Manchurian

A variety of Indian Chinese cuisines known as "Manchurian" are prepared by roughly cutting and deep-frying ingredients such chicken, cauliflower (Gobi), prawns, fish, mutton, and paneer before sautéing them in a soy sauce-flavored sauce. Manchurian is the outcome of modifying Chinese spice and cooking methods to appeal to Indian palates. It is now a common ingredient in Indian and Chinese cooking.

The term "Manchurian" refers to someone who is a native or inhabitant of Manchuria, a region in northeast China. However, the dish was mostly developed by Chinese eateries in India and has nothing in do with either traditional Manchu or Northeastern Chinese cuisine.  Nelson Wang, a cook at the Cricket Club of India in Mumbai, is credited with creating it in 1975 when a customer asked him to come up with a meal that wasn't on the menu. The essential components of an Indian cuisine, such as minced garlic, ginger, and green chilies, were the beginning point for Wang's innovation process. He then substituted soy sauce for garam masala and added cornstarch and the chicken itself as well as Manchurian mushroom, baby corn, and vegetable balls.

Ingredients Required

For Manchurian

  • 300 gm boneless chicken

For Mari nation

  • ginger garlic paste/powder  1/2tsp
  • salt  to taste
  • black pepper 1tsp (adjust accordingly)
  • white pepper 1/4 tsp
  • chicken powder 1/4 tsp
  • corn flour  2 to 3 tbsp. (for binding)
  • mustard paste 1/2 tbsp.
  • egg 1 (whisked) 

For Sauce

  • garlic 3 to 4 chopped
  • tomato ketchup half cup
  • tomato pure half cup
  • soya sauce 2 to 3 tbsp.
  • chili sauce 1 and 1/2 tbsp.
  • vinegar 1/2 tbsp.
  • sugar 5 to 6 tbsp.
  • chicken powder 1 tbsp.
  • salt to taste
  • chili flakes 1 tsp
  • black pepper to taste
  • corn flour 2 to 3 tbsp.
  • oil as required

For Garnishing

  • Capsicum as required
  • egg as required
  • spring onion as required

Cooking Method

  1. Cut chicken into small cubes and marinate with ginger garlic paste / powder, salt, white pepper, black pepper, chicken powder, corn flour , mustard paste, egg. (set aside approximately half an hour).
  2.  Now  heat oil in a pan on a medium flame . Deep fry the marinated chicken and set aside.
  3.  Heat 2 tbsp. in a pan for Manchurian sauce and sauté chopped garlic in it. Then add tomato pure , soya sauce, chili sauce, vinegar , sugar , chicken powder, salt ,chili flakes ,black pepper. Mix it well. After that , add tomato ketchup. Dissolve corn flour  in half cup of water and add it in the Manchurian sauce . Let it simmer for few minutes or until sauce is thickened.
  4. Add fried chicken and stir in the Manchurian sauce.
  5. Just before serving add cube capsicum , boil egg and spring onion on the top and dish it out. Delicious Chicken Manchurian is  ready to serve.

Ingredients

For  Chicken Fried Rice

  • Rice  boil 500 gm
  • chicken boil shredded 250 gm
  • carrot Julien half cup
  • capsicum Julien half cup
  • cabbage Julien half cup
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper crushed 1/2 tsp
  • chicken powder 1 tbsp.
  • soya sauce 2 tbsp.
  • vinegar 1/2 tbsp.
  • Oil as required

Cooking Method

  1. Add half cup oil in a pan and heat it on a flame. Now add carrot, capsicum, spring onions and cabbage in it and  shallow  fry on a high flame.
  2. Put  shredded chicken . Add salt , black pepper, chicken powder , soya sauce and vinegar. Mix all the ingredients well.
  3. After that , add boil rice and combine it with  veggie and chicken  mixture
  4. Appetizing chicken fried rice is ready to serve.
  5. Enjoy Chicken Fried Rice with Chicken Manchurian!
