 How to make chicken Chow Mein?

A dish of stir-fried noodles, of which there are numerous variants, is referred to as chow mein in general Chinese. In contrast to Westernized Chinese cuisine, which sometimes uses thin, crunchy noodles, authentic chow mein is typically cooked with soft noodles.
For all Chinese food darlings, here is a reliable method for satisfying your friends and family or visitors. Chow Mein is a finger licking combo that everybody aches for. Chicken Chow Mein is easy to make. Do attempt this formula recipe at home.

Chow mein

Chinese immigrants from the Guangdong regions arrived in California during the 1849 Gold Rush and brought their Cantonese cooking culture with them. They are credited with bringing Chaw mein from China to the United States.

It is a stir-fried dish in American Chinese cuisine that includes noodles, meat (chicken is most frequently used, but pig, beef, shrimp, or tofu may also be substituted), onions, and celery. At westernized Chinese restaurants, it is frequently offered as a specific dish. Chow mein that is vegan, or vegetarian is also popular.

Chow meins come in two primary varieties: steamed chow mein and crispy chow mein, sometimes referred to as Hong Kong style chow mein (see below). While the latter is crispier and drier, the steaming chow mein has a softer feel. While soft chow mein utilises long, rounder noodles, crispy chow mein employs fried, flat noodles.

Crispy chow mein is either served "strained," which means it is devoid of any vegetables, or it has onions and celery in the final product. The final product of steamed chow mein may contain a variety of vegetables, most frequently onions and celery but occasionally also carrots, cabbage, and mung bean sprouts.

Ingredients Required

  • Water as required
  • Spaghetti 300g
  •  Salt 1 & ½ tsp or to taste
  •  Cooking oil 1-2 tbs
  •  Soy sauce 1 tbs 
  • Vinegar ½ tbs
  •  White pepper powder 1 tsp
  • Salt ½ tsp or to taste
  •  Garlic powder 1 tsp
  •  Chicken boneless stripes 300g 
  • Baking soda ¼ tsp
  •  Cooking oil 2 tbs
  •  Soy sauce 2 tbs
  •  Chilli sauce 3 tbs
  •  Chilli garlic sauce 1 tbs
  •  Sesame oil 1 tbs
  • Sugar 1 tbs
  • Salt 1 tsp or to taste
  •  Black pepper powder 1 tsp
  •  Cooking oil 1-2 tbs
  •  Carrots julienne 1 cup
  •  Capsicum julienne 1 cup
  •  Cabbage shredded 1 & ½ cups
  •  Cooking oil 2-3 tbs
  • Garlic sliced 8-10 cloves
  •  Spaghetti boiled
  •  Fried Chicken 
  • Prepared chow mein sauce
  •  Stir fried vegetables

Cooking Method

  1. Add the spaghetti to the boiling water and stir well.
  2.  Add salt, stir thoroughly, and simmer until done (4-5 minutes).
  3.  Placing a strainer over a saucepan, straining, and then rinsing under running water.
  4.  Add the oil, thoroughly combine, then strain and set.
  5.  Add the soy sauce, vinegar, white pepper, salt, and garlic powder to a bowl and stir to combine.
  6.  Add the boneless chicken strips and combine well. Mix thoroughly after adding baking soda. For 15 minutes, cover it and let it rest. 
  7. In a wok , add  Cooking oil, marinated chicken, and medium heat in a wok for 4–5 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through. Remove from heat.
  8.  In a bowl add Soy sauce, chilli sauce, chilli garlic sauce, sesame oil, sugar, salt, and black pepper powder should all be combined in a bowl. Chow mein sauce is prepared and ready for use.
  9. In the same wok, combine the oil, carrots, cabbage, and capsicum. Sauté for 2 minutes. Remove and set aside. 
  10. Add cooking oil, garlic, and stir well in the same wok.
  11.  Spaghetti that has been cooked should be added.
  12.  Mix thoroughly after adding cooked chicken.
  13.  Add the premade chow mein sauce, combine well, and cook over high heat for 1 minute.
  14.  Stir in the stir-fried vegetables. 
  15. It's time to serve the chow mein.
